Caged Beast
-----------
A cherished thing
like grandma's ring
polished and gleaming
a monster hidden within
under the bed of the mind
the closet of the soul
of nightmarish things
eyes of burning coal
nails broken and ragged
stained with crimson blood
ready to pounce
sweet delight
the smoothest chocolate
the vintage wine
the long, close dance
bogeyman let loose
prowling the dark corners
of every heart
he makes no sound
creeps up slowly behind
sensual sensation
soft velvet against smooth flesh
a warm radiant fire
in the dead of winter
a lover's kiss
it's got you
Autumn's Grace
--------------
Fire burns the horizon
Ice chills the world's breath
Great clouds of orange and brown fill the air
Myriad of falling shapes
Scent of pumpkin and spice
Flickering dance of candle light
Fading daytime
Encroaching night
Clouds offer promise
Of rain soaked interludes in the night
Fresh faced sun greats a dew kissed chill morning
Clear skies offer a beaming blue backdrop
For a world graced with rich color

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Solis, in the year 503 AD.

Onward to 2021
