SEARCHING

Through the mirror of my soul I gaze,
Searching for answers I will never find,

Searching forever.

Dark, haunted eyes star back with burning insanity,
Deep pools of hope long forgotten.

Eyes filled with hidden knowledge,
Elaborate illusions and ornate deceit weaving together a new reality.

Light reflected, blackness absorbed,
Creating the demented, endless tapestry of nightmares which tortures
that same soul.

A voice cries out against the silence,
A candle lit within the darkness for a single moment,

Then the moment is gone.

Through the mirror of my soul I gaze,
Searching for answers I will never find,

Searching forever.

I think we all have our dark moments when it seems like we can't go on
and everything around us seems impossible to handle. It's a very dark
poem written in a dark time for me, but I keep it to remind me that what
I have now I should appreciate versus what I was like during this poem.
I think it's good to have something like as proof that we can make it
and move on to better things.

Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Solis, in the year 533 AD.

Onward to 2021
