Aetherius Poetry Contest - Form Poem #3

A Soul's Mirror

A broken shard found in a hallowed wood -
who knew what a rare treasure I would find?
A true mirror of my soul, heart, and mind
reflecting everything noble and good.
Did I meet you just a few months ago
or has my spirit known you for longer?
This connection between us grows stronger
as we wander through life's sunshine and snow.
A universe of possibility
exists within your touch, your eyes, your face.
Your voice enraptures - a siren's embrace;
To resist you is utter futility.
As surely as the sun hangs in the sky,
I will love you until the day I die.

Written for Ysabel, the one I love. When I started writing it, the line
'A universe of possibility' popped into my head, and I knew I had to use
it somewhere. After some word wrangling, I finally was able to express
exactly what I meant.

Penned by my hand on the 20th of Bellum, in the year 533 AD.
