get sliver
Each dawn as I stir awake, my thoughts float to you.
Slowly pulling my conscious down into this sea of endless sorrow.
I cling to a sliver of hope, a wilting flower.
Time has but healed only a fragment of my heart.

I once danced alone, awaiting your reappearance.
Was it to much to as for in return?
Did lust entice you with her charm?

It was once your smile that made me weak to my knees.
Now sickening my stomach with the memory.
Your promises that would only become lies in the end.

And yet, I remember words of love spoken..
Away from prying eyes,
Behind closed doors.
Was I the joke?

You were the one who ran away.
You should be the one feels lost.
Not I.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Solis, in the year 580 AD.
