I Stopped to Take a Walk

Written by: Littlest Selwin Veliryan, Bardic Historian

One day I went a'walking.
I crossed a stormy sea,
and then I was a'standing
upon one bended knee.

I ate a pie of gravy
that tasted of green plums.
I strummed a lovely mandolin
that sounded of soft drums.

One day I went a'walking.
I wandered 'round the skies.
I chatted with a giant's wife
no bigger than three mice.

I sold a chocolate turtle
who bought me in return.
I'll never wander evermore.
That's one thing I won't learn.

Oh never trust a neighbor
who lives too far away.
I'm going to keep on moving
'cause right here's where I'll stay.

I'll sadly drink to humor,
laugh at sorrows all the day.
Don't want to see a funeral
with faces that are grey.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Halitus, in the year 587 AD.
