In Blood We Raged

In Blood We Raged

In blood we raged,
Under the Suns we fought.
Feeling my life was caged,
While you developed the plot.

Tears streaming down,
As I whisper feelings to you.
Soft voice turning my frown,
Though you smiled too.

Joyous romps through the sands,
Laughter taking hold.
Secrets shared while we join hands,
The secrets I'm sure you told.

A glint in your eye,
A soft-spoken curse.
Your friendship is a lie,
And your responses are rather terse.

A growing doubt,
A fear within.
Please don't let it be so,
Please, Lord Baar, no.

But there you go,
Stolen the gold.
Stripped your friends of trust,
I should have listened to the voice inside.

Gold can be repiled,
Coffers can be restocked.
The trust you've stolen,
And the people you've mocked.

When your scales are dry,
And your eyes lose sight.
Will your 'friends' be there when you cry,
Or will you cower from fright?

Is it not the predator's life,
To die a prey's strife?

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Solis, in the year 411 AD.

Onward to 2021
