Amidst all the fluff of your last post, I'll try to gather what sense I
can from it, and hopefully respond in a less longwinded manner. For
those that don't really care, don't feel too obligated to read. It isn't
that interesting, and I understand that public posting is a real pain to
read through sometimes.
1. "You just sit around and make fun of us. I bet you don't do stuff
when there's trouble. Or, I mean, that sounds like a good random
accusation to make."
While I have acted on every event of which word reaches me, I do
understand that on occasion, especially recently, certain folks will
spot trouble and opt not to make it publicly* known, instead dealing
with it on their own, so that they might be able to preen and say, "I
was there. Where were you?"
-*Publicly, in nature, being defined as not simply over GT, but to the
other related organizations as well.
2. "You left us because you weren't willing to work problems out, and
you simply gave up."
There are two people I can think of that opted for change in the guild,
in my time there. One is now a Cleric, and the other lives in Ithaqua.
Realizing that the Arboreal guild was a rather pointless organization,
when it came to actually helping the Wilds, I simply focused my efforts
towards worthwhile causes.
3."Your fiancee harvested Caitlin's quince a few years ago, and she
-still- won't stop bitching about it! Seriously, we're going insane
here."
Sorry. Regarding the more irritating comment you actually made, though,
I mention harvesting when it is -all- someone does. People will buy the
same number of herbs regardless of who sells them, because they are
always available, so to say that it is, in any way, taking advantage of
nature, is pretty brainless of you. While the rest of the guild has left
about a tenth of the natural world unplanted and free of any life
whatsoever (fortunately, none of these areas were jungles), she has
taken the initiative to plant many of these obscure areas that provide
no real boon to harvesters, resulting in more abundance of life than she
could ever take away by harvesting. It's a sickening display of
selflessness, I know.
4."You're probably just mad that you got kicked out or something."
While Fang apologized for the idiot who miscommunicated the guild law
that resulted in my outguilding, and said I could come back in a year
when the issue died down a bit, I decided against it, as life outside of
the guild was surprisingly productive.
5. "Technically, you have to join the Arboreal guild to gain the
skills."
In order to explain to you why this is an idiotic statement, I would
have to refer you to a help scroll unsuitable for mention on the public
boards. Sorry.
I mean, seriously.
