Truth

I will respond to this pitiable mewling and protestation of innocence
not for my city, nor for Damarius or Cander, but for myself.

Sketched over most conveniently by this innocent and oh so set upon
practitioner of taint, was the fact that in his most virtuous and
martyred daily activities, he attacked an uninvolved bystander in his
personal dispute with Cander.

Having just come from under Cannae on a hunt, my fiance and I were on
our way home when two combatants entered. I was struck by magic, both in
an unfocused and then in a deliberate act on the part of the mage in
question.

I am not known for my proclivity to seek others out for combat. I enjoy
a hunt far more than searching out my fellow man as target. Thus far I
have joined with others in this pursuit only when my city, my faith, or
our realm is threatened, and this rarely.

Though I was aware of this mage's combat with Cander, I did not feel it
my place to be involved and would not have sought it as I mistakenly
believed him to be a young and inexperienced practitioner.

However, once attacked, I responded in kind as it is any Antiochan's
duty to respond to the touch of filth that is magic.

Damarius simply used his skills to rid the area of magic at first- until
I fell, then he acted as any affiliated person would to the death of
significant other.

When I was raised by the god's grace, I waited- though I could have
joined Cander in finishing this person. I will add here that Cander
himself showed exemplary honor in requesting he fight alone against a
superior foe.

Protestations of this fellow's innocence aside- he carelessly used his
skills first to incite a devoted Antiochan, and incurred his wrath, then
he again invited aggression and reprisal by the same careless flinging
of filth upon my person.

He was taken to account for his mistake. That he comes here to whine of
his less than loving treatment, speculating Antioch as a whole makes war
upon mages as a whole- should not surprise me.

This irresponsible young man has invited all harm that comes to him.

May the flames of Lord Baar's Flames Cleanse-

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
