Public News Post #1259

History, and its tendency to repeat itself

All,
As I stood at Aryana's Spring, attempting to instruct a novice on our
guild's channels, I was struck by a number of attacks by the Crux
Shade's
darling fiancee. Having barely ever spoken to the man, and never
interacted,
I asked him why. "Await the upcoming post by the Crux Shade," he said.

I am ever so pleased to have finally read it. It would seem that the
Saboteurs,
or at least their leaders, wish the "war" of earlier times to continue.
I do
not speak for the Idras in this, but I for one wonder whatever for? For
the
Crux Shade, there is always the cause of Death, which stands alone. For
the rest
of us, the conflict was ended somewhat amicably on both sides. Certainly
there
is to be no love lost between us. Your founder betrayed ours, and cast
Sondgroth
and his remaining followers into the wilderness.
But we have survived, and built ourselves back. We took what vengeance
we could in
slaying Ismailis, as he was involved in the original betrayal. But now,
in modern
times, that is all. We all stand on our own. I have no ill will toward
any
Saboteur who does not foist unwarranted aggression upon me. Certainly, I
look upon demonism with some small disgust. But if, as you have said in
the
past, Saboteur abilities are non-demonic, there is no reason to even act
against
you based on that.
As I say, there is no love lost between the Saboteurs and the Idras. We
do not
forgive Insidian his betrayal, nor his responsibility for the death of
our
ancestors. But Insidian has been dead many years. An accord has been met
in the
"war" of the recent past. The Idras have taken on new leadership since
that time,
and most of us have generally moved on.
Does Death require new souls so greatly that we must become
archaeologists to find them?

However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
