High Priestess of Nature-
Several years ago, I asked Fang if he might consider a referendum
regarding Ithaquan citizenship for Arboreals. He assured me that such a
thing would take place "shortly." When you replaced him, I asked you the
same, and was told the same, in prettier words. I have attempted to
resolve the matter to mutual satisfaction through leadership, and been
refused.
A true Arboreal understands all aspects of Nature from the wild animals
of the forest to the shifting sands of the desert.
Is that not as I recall it? The guild you "lead" has as its creed the
tending of the forests, the wilds, the lands, of Nature. Perhaps you've
not revisited the definitions of "Forest" lately. I stand here in a
large area, which is full of trees. These trees, Elm and Oak and Pine,
seem to have bark and leaves. They appear to draw moisture from the
earth and energy from the Suns. I notice that we have plants growing
from our soil which can be harvested. Several arboreals have imprinted
groves here. To me, this appears to be a forest.
I have asked many times for Ithaqua to receive the same care that the
other forests receive from "your" guild. You and your ilk have refused
me. As it stands, if there is one arboreal who would prefer to call
Ithaqua home, they dare not, for fear of outguilding. And no Guildmaster
or mistress of the guild has been able or willing to even call a
referendum on it. I'm meant to be the wicked tyrant around here, not
you. If even one arboreal wishes to live here, and you refuse them the
right to even vote on it, you are encroaching on my territory of tyrant,
and I find it amusing.
Arboreals, Ithaqua is a forest. Those who live here love it as well as
your kin in the warmer climes. I invite and ask you to seek knowledge
here. You need not join us. But learn us. Ithaqua holds her people as
close as Khandava, if perhaps with a cooler touch. Come visit us. See
the horror of Ithaqua for yourself, and judge whether you are rightly
barred from our paths.
When we first found the forest, I spoke with Caitlin and suggested that
no Arboreal be allowed to imprint in Ithaqua, as the wildlife is savage
and likely to slay you in your grove if you are not careful. I had no
idea that the safety precaution Caitlin and I agreed on would become
such a restriction.
