What I learned from Marnor, the barkeep

Over the years, Marnor and the Drunken Ibex have been good friends of
mine. They were always there for me when I was feeling down, and the
wares they sell always seemed to lighten my spirits. I'd seen the
trouble others would get themselves into under the influence, but those
were just funny stories. Until now.

I feel betrayed, and not just by the bottle, but by myself. Maybe it's
just the headache I still have as I'm writing this, but I can't really
recall the details... My memory's fuzzy, but the pain sure isn't.
Imagine my surprise once my head started to clear when I found that I,
after living my whole life free from guilds, had somehow become a
Justicar novice? Of course I quit immediately, but it could not end so
simply as that.

Aetherius, I have two things you all should know. Firstly, from this day
forward I will never allow alcohol to betray me as it has today. It is
no longer the friend I once thought it was. Secondly, I would like my
story to be an example to the world. If you must drink, do so
responsibly, or you never know where you'll be in the morning.

Thank you,
Arek Verruil, Dreamweaver, and guildless once again
