Magick

I am quite qualified in magick and knowledge, Divine or otherwise. Being
a bard gives me a very unique outlook on things, being that I wield some
Divine power, and affect the fabric of Magick with my music. If any
would like to discuss

Every day, I am thankful to the Divine for both of these gifts. For, as
legend has it, both stem from the Divine. The real difference, however
is that Magick is not controlled by the Divine directly, and any may
wield it. This in itself is dangerous, and this is where the true fear
of magick comes from.

In the past, and the present, Divine abilities require a Divine
investing such power to the person, either as part of their Faith, or as
a benefit of true understanding of a small aspect of Divines. Bards in
particular have a unique outlook, knowing fragments of the Divine
language, yet at the same time, knowing we are approaching the limits of
what our Mortal minds can comprehend. Too much more knowledge of Divine
Tongue has the risk of shattering our minds... Yet, every day, we are
thankful for this knowledge, and the knowledge that the Divine allow us
such a privilege, such ability to change reality.

Magick, as legend has it, is due to three beings that grasped for power
too far beyond what they should have. All of them wished to be Gods, and
eventually, Lord Avasyu granted their wish. However, He did not trust
their judgments, and imprisoned them in the moon. The sheer power of
three deities shattered the Moon, and their punishment was, they got
their wishes, but would never control such power themselves. The power
waves over the lands, being what is refered to as Magick.

The risk in Magick, the true risk, is not that it is unpredictable.
Indeed, most uses of Magick are extremely predictable. I can time how
long my musical songs will last, to the second. And they will be the
same, every time. What is the real fear, is that anyone with proper
knowledge may use it. This is the true fear associated with it, what
drives people to daily add exaggerations, is that now those they deem
"irresponsible" are capable of wielding this vast power, in one form or
another. They fear what one is capable of, when utilizing these tides,
and invent new reasons daily to eradicate its use from the lands.

Bards are reminded of their mortality daily. Speaking the Divine
Language carries heavy risk whenever the bard reaches to say more than
but a mere utterance of it. It can do serious damage to a bard's body
and mind. The first lesson every bard receives on The Art, states that
our understanding of such a thing pales to merely nothing next to the
Divine. To state that members of the Magickal Community seek to
challenge the Divine is very wrong, for no Bard would ever do such a
thing, because such a thing would be heresy, immoral, and a violation of
the knowledge a Bard is bequeathed.

I also stand against this charge of heresy against the Divine that has
been levied against us by Silken. Our Lord Janus, and The Lady Eloweth,
have given us His blessing to seek our knowledge, and support our
endeavors. We are to take care in them, and to use such powers
responsibly, but it is not heresy against the Divine to use magick. Many
of us use our powers to further life, healing plants from the ravages of
the Dark Magicks, and to protect the innocent.

It may be considered heresy against specific Divine, by those Divine, as
I have no right, ability, nor inclination to tell anyone what to
believe- especially the Divine. But it is definitely far from heresy to
all Divine, to further yourself, and to demand less power from the
Divine we trust.

As for Tainted things... be careful when you use such a word. Magick
does not taint you, the things refered to as Dark Magick do- Warped
twisted things, deriving of power from other planes, twisted through
magick for dangerous results, almost all of which are the antithesis of
existence and life.

I seek to live, and to let others live. Kinsarmar stands between
everyone and the Hoarde, with our magicks. Kinsarmar stands between what
is left of the Rift, and the world, with our magicks. If I did not care
for the innocents of the world, and for our allies, I could easilly
order our gates closed the next time, and watch the Hoarde march down
upon those that believe our way of life is "tainted" by a will for
peace, and a will for life. But I can not let the innocents, and the
misguided, die because of the radical thoughts of a few. So Kinsarmar
stands, and we resist.

The Bastion Stirs, and so does the Hoarde.

Hail the Bastion of the North.
Hail The Great Walker.
Hail The Lady of the Arcane.

Knowledge is key.
