Greetings, Aetherius.
I write as a member of Khandava's Council - not as a Caliph, as an
Arboreal, or as anything else. I will attempt to address Aetherians as a
whole, though some of my statements will be directed at individuals.
Regarding our Prophetess... I have known Shylough Xianfu since her entry
into the council. Since then, I can discern nothing about her which has
changed. She is strong-willed, and she is passionate - most notably
about Khandava, its well-being, and its members. Those who know me well
also know that I never say something which I am not prepared to
whole-heartedly defend, and I say this with at least as much confidence
as anything else: Shylough has never worked for any agenda or any
purpose but that of the welfare of Khandava. The short-sighted, the
stubborn, or the egocentric (not an insult, but a word meaning involved
in oneself until it is impossible to empathize with others who are
different) may not be able to recognize her intentions as pure and
well-conceived. Those of us open to her ideas, however, can see that she
is indeed worthy of her title.
I present to the reader an example. I am, myself, opposed to the Lyria
Treaty - that which allies Kinsarmar and Khandava. Nevertheless, I will
not condemn Shylough - or the many who came before her, as the treaty
was conceived before she was born - for their actions in regard to it. I
will not condemn her, nor will I call her 'mad' or attempt to blame her
for the actions of those who do not approve of her. I will make my
position known, as I have, and do my best to change what I see to be
unfit without leaving.
On that note, I now address those individuals who felt the need to leave
the Khandava Council. This is, of course, your right and your choice, as
was your decision to come and reside in the Redwoods. However, I will
not stand to hear those who left because of their distaste of one leader
claim to have Khandava's best interest at heart or to be loyal to the
council. Do not cry 'Foul!' when punished for your crimes, simply
because of past work you have done for Khandava. Laws apply to all, and
most strictly to those who have the power to change them.
I thank you for your time.
