Public News Post #1710

To those seeking to 'rebuild' their forestal homes.

Many years ago, a cry echoed from the frozen north, calling for aid to
save the sick and starving villagers caught admist the blizzards of
winters Wrath. Our call was not answered as those of your ilk, both
mortal and Divine turned a deaf ear to their pleas and allowed them to
slip further and further into Darkness. Now, we have come full circle. A
blight has spread across the land, devastating plantlife and new growth
across the entire world, save for the Black Pine, who escaped unscathed
by what you will call 'luck' or 'pity'. Those few Villagers who call the
Ithaqua home will call it strength of purpose and survival of the
fittest.

It is with that thought that the Black Pine will offer its aid in the
replanting and regrowth of 'Nature.' In our experience, we have learned
that it is ill advised to repeat the mistakes of other societies, as
fate has a way of bringing those arrogant few to their knees for past
transgressions. It is our hope that the plants may carry the essence of
the Wendigo's strength to the corners of the world and ensure that such
weakness that was previously witnessed will not regrow and re-establish
itself within the southern forests.

However, as you draw the bounty of nature from the boundaries of the
Ithaquan Forest and Gyanis snowfields, I must remind you that our
tradition has always been to take only what is needed, not what you
want. In terms that you may understand, you are forbidden to leave less
than thirty plants upon any variety of plantlife within the borders of
Ithaqua. Your laws of 'overharvest' must be adjusted accordingly so that
you do not become the flavor of the weak at the banquet table. Thirty or
less will find you searching for coins to pay the boatman.
