Spring

The sweet breath of the gentle breeze
danced across my flesh.
I tilted my head and listened close
to the thrilling courtship songs
of the young birds seeking a mate.
Brilliantly hued flowers
bobbed their soft heads as I passed.
The fresh green grass still glistened
with the dew drops of morning's kiss.
I closed my eyes....
renewed
refreshed
reborn
...and welcomed Spring.

Heaven kissed
Gentle drift
Soft as down
Intricate
Delicate
Spider's web
Of fractal ice
Shimmering in light
Blanket of white
Chilled clay
Encouraging play

Darkness & Light

I stood in the darkness
screaming
with no sound
sudden movement
I reach out to catch
a distraction to shatter the quiet
success!
but it is elusive
slipping free of my grasping fingers
escaped, fading
collapsing, tired
to the formless ground
staring blank eyed
and numb
at nothing and everything
time passes
a light flashes
ignored
tired of grasping
for nothing
again, it flashes
brighter this time
my eyes flicker
catching a glimpse
of its radiant perfection
in fear I turn away
afraid to darken the light
closer still it comes
I step away
but my curiousity wins
I peek again
there! within its brilliant form
a mote of shadow dancing deep within
tentatively I reach
fingertips brush across its form
bliss, delight, seduction
wonder fills my soul
the light swirls
encasing me in a
joyful vortex
enclosed within happiness
calmness replaces confusion
safety replaces lonliness
love replaces pain
and the darkness flees

Little Rose

Beautiful blossom
Grown extrodinarily on
the angry thorny vine
Delicate petals
Soft as an infant's skin
Hue the shade of
sweet red wine
Scent infectious
Each day
the petals expand
slowly revealing
radiant beauty
held close within
