Revelation

Greetings Aetherius,

For what seems like ages I have studied this world from the shadows. In
that time I have seen a great many things, some curious others not. The
most curious thing I've encountered has been this fascination with
staying free of magick. First of all do not let the age of my mortal
shell delude your thinking. My soul is as ageless as time itself, at
least the time as it exists in this realm. Alas, religion is beyond the
scope of this.

The great divide is our topic. As we all know there are those that
oppose magick, those that fear it and those that embrace it. For years
upon years great debates have been cast from one side to another. No
"winner" ever declared and so the rivalry continued.

Continued until now. Oh how times have changed. To walk into any city or
council now and it seems like another world. Wardancer befriending a
Mage at the crossroads. Idras aside Monk aside Noctuarsi, inside the
walls of Stavenn. Warden with Bard in Khandava. It is truly a sight to
behold.

Well you cannot see this just anyplace. There are still those every
vigilant relics of the past that have nothing to do with magick. Surely
in these days those feelings must be changing. There is not a profession
that those that oppose magick can call their own. Of course this is a
stubborn lot. I had thought when they learned that one could pray to a
Divine that supported magick and still receive blessings things would
change and alas they didn't.

That was a most curious thing in itself. The pinnacle of the anti-magick
stance, the Divine, actually gifted those that embrace magick the same
power to heal they had. And yet the just looked away. So now those that
follow this path of "anti-magick" have neither skills nor the Divine
base their faith on.

Surely the debate has been settled. I mean what now would the argument
be against using runes as they are inkings much like tattoos. Yes,
tattoos are a gift from the Divine but these same Divine gift those with
runes the same power they gift you.

What of the argument of surges? I've heard them used as proof magick was
flawed yet I can go places where surges of a different nature raise my
mental prowess. Magick is obviously ingrained into our very world, again
more proof that magick is natural. Even the Hunters and Arboreals
realized this and hence were able to tap into the magick of this world
just as they tap into other parts of nature.

I can not fathom what you, the so called pure, have left to fight for as
there is nothing you have that is sacred. Yes, sadly the debate must be
over. I am doubtful the world will ever be as interesting a place to
study as it once once. Perhaps my soul has served it's purpose and my
soul shall depart. Then again perhaps Lord Thanatos would find pleasure
in me becoming a Cleric in His name.

Perhaps.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Bellum, in the year 514 AD.

However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
