This is a call to the Sisters of old and new, to those who don't know
that there is a place in Antioch with The Onawasi Amazons. In years past
the term 'Amazon' has held many negative connotations, not anymore...

The Onawasi are changing the way the term is used. Onawasi is a term
that means 'One who is wide awake'. We stand for many things but among
those there are certain ones that we hold dearest.


Loyalty:
With loyalty comes trust. There are many in this world that will deceive
you for personal gain. We are a family and should be great allies to
each other. Loyalty is being faithful to a cause, idea, custom, or
persons. Together we can be stronger and smarter with friends watching
our backs.

Truth:
Being true and honest to yourself will keep you from wandering lost and
alone. We are all different and that should be praised. Trying to change
the way you are will benefit no one in the end. For in the end, there is
only you. There are also things amongst us that will try to deceive us,
persuade us with seductive power. Turn your eyes against the taint for
there is only madness to be found.

Courage :
Everything takes courage, even simply living. It is the mental and moral
strength to venture, persevere and withstand danger, fear, or
difficulty. In order to better yourself and the world around you, risks
must be made. A warrior must have courage to face an enemy in battle.
Healers are faced with the possibility of losing someone elses life. A
leader could easily cause the demise of her people with one little
mistake. It is a fact of life that nothing is easy, not for the
strongest warrior or youngest babe.

Strength :
Strong of mind, body, and spirit make for success. That is not to say
that one must be able to lift an elephant. As obstacles continue to
block our way, we must keep ourselves in shape and in focus. To have
balance is to have strength. It is important to take the time to
rejuvenate or you may be bogged down.

Sisterhood:
The Onawasi is a community of women who consider eachother as sisters.
We all must look out for each other, help each and everyone one of us
grow to better ourselves and prove to the world the greatness of being a
woman.


It is true that the traditional Amazon looked down upon men. Although it
would be naive to think that some men do not look upon women as
weaklings, there are those who are capable enough to understand the
strength of a woman and respects us as equals. However, no matter how
noble he may be, it is imperative that one should never reveal the
sanctity of tribal information.


Sisters, those of you seeking to be with us I warn you now we make our
home in the Jewel of the Desert known as Antioch. If you already have
the skills seek me out or if not, one of our Sisters who can teach you.
For any sister young or old...


So long as you can enter the desert city without problems there is a
home for you here. We are not the most numerous but that will not deter
us. We are willing to work with you through your hardships and help you
overcome but by no means will you be coddled like a babe.
