To the citizens of Antioch, I direct this apology for my comments
several months ago. I said something on the city tells that was a
mistake, something I do not believe, but said in a moment of anger. I
insulted Antioch in error, and I apologize for my misdeed. I can only
say that it was a very big mistake, and I plead for your forgiveness. I
love Antioch and do not wish for hard feelings with any of her citizens.
I, once again beg for your forgiveness and hope you will find it in your
hearts to grant it to me."
