Alliance

I am disappointed, and I am heartily saddened. This is my last day as a
member of Celidon. And I cannot say that that is why I am sad. No; for
this council has long since ceased to be my home. I have fought for this
council; I have given of myself so many times for this council. And to
what end? To be a voice derided and ridiculed, and so often ignored?
That I can handle. To be murdered, to be attacked, and to be locked out
of my own council by my very councilmates? That I can handle. But to
see, with my very own eyes, as, one by one, our FOUNDING LAWS, the
cardinal laws set down so many ages ago, are ALLOWED to be broken? That
I cannot abide. It is to this end that I admit that I can no longer call
this place my home. Gurn has betrayed the council's charter, and that of
his guild, in associating with demoners. Worse, the Emeris, the ultimate
representative of the council, has not only allowed, but PERPETUATED,
this maneuver. For what? Pride? There can be no pride in allying with
Stavenn. Money? I would truly hope that such does not motivate any in
the ruling force of the council. Perhaps I will never know. Farewell,
Celidon. It truly breaks my heart to view what a ragged corpse of the
splendor you once were.

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Ultio, in the year 521 AD.

Onward to 2021
