Know first that I do not pen this because you and your city shows such
insolence in opposing our will and refusing the demands of the Empire.
We have grown quite used to such behavior in the ages since your
ungrateful village rebelled against Imperial dominance after two hundred
long years of our men sheltering your people from the orc hordes and
numerous other threats that would have exterminated you otherwise.

Border strife and antagonistic actions from both sides is what started
whatever this conflict is as of now, but what it will become is far more
important. Regardless of the circumstances or the way our demands were
presented, you failed to meet them and because of this action must be
taken.

This is an official declaration of war on the Duchy of Kinsarmar by the
Stavennite Empire. I have heard little from you and your Ereges besides
an expression of safety. No doubt an easy misconception to have when you
stand behind your walls and gates with disorganized patrols of
Lorekeepers and Mages on your heels.

Regardless, not everything under your protection is safe and those of
you who reside in the highlands had best remember that. Your villages
will burn, your trade will cease and none of your children will rest
easily at night knowing monsters beyond their comprehension roam your
'safe' lands. The five towers will fall.

You had your chance to avoid it Duke, but it seems that you will follow
in Ilom Marcell's footsteps after all. I trust that you are prepared to
meet the same fate.
