Evijan Landstrider,
I find it amusing that this entire debacle occurred regarding the death
of a little pink bug. A mere insect of unique coloring was killed, and
as a result, my daughter brought upon the wrath of an entire city.
This pathetic, insignificant little creature represents the Order of
Shallah? What is it representing, exactly? That when being annoying, it
can be squashed with little difficulty? It bears no divinity. Every
Divinely formed being I've ever seen in my entire life has been of
immense durability.
Strike the mighty bug, however, and it crumples up and perishes. How
fitting, for the Order of Peace, which contributes nothing to our grand
conflict other than being easy prey for those who would feed upon you.
I've no conflict with pacifism, but I feel that pacifism for the sake
of pacifism is a naive and ignorant way to live. This is not a world
where peace can survive, and you do your allies no good by refusing to
help guard them. You are forced to sit by and watch as heretics bring
forth their violence and kill your friends and your family.
This, Evijan, is the great power of Peace. The power to be utterly
useless when you're needed most.
Also, a side note.
In my studies of concoctions, I've often had to interact with the
natural world, insects included. Did you know that dragonflies are some
of the most predatorial creatures around? They consume fellow insects
at a rapid, and often brutal, rate. Imagine that. This is equivalent
to what we call cannibalism. Tell me, does Antioch still object to that
practice?
Lastly, should a single Shallite, or Antiochian, act so publicly
condescending towards a fellow Ithaquan, Evijan, like you yourself did
in reponse to her, I shall tear their pretty little spines through
their delicate little stomachs.
Thank you for your time.
