Antioch is getting into the spirit of hosting more culture events. This in particular was written and dictated by Mehmed, and he decided to tell us all a story. Being that this is the first of many, Mehmed had requested that this would be posted Publicly, in hopes of inspiring the artist in all of us and perhaps help foster positive nature between Circles.
"The Tale of the Fish"
Story by: Mehmed
Recorded by: Casyia
Placing himself opposite everyone, Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "From name alone, which one would you like to try? the story of misplaced devotion, the tale of fish, or the improper searching?"
Casyia puts her hands on her hips and goes "Hmmm!"
Krator ponders the situation.
Krator asks, "Shall we speak out aloud?"
Casyia nods her head.
Casyia urges Krator onwards.
Krator says, "Improper searching!"
Mehmed nods his head.
Casyia beams broadly.
Casyia nods her head at Krator, showing her acceptance.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "That's two votes for the improper searching."
Krator sways to and fro.
In a slow chittering voice, Sachem Japa Vuh'uni, Guardian of the Burrows says, "Fish."
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "That's a single vote for fish."
Krator chuckles long and heartily.
You see the following people here:
Xzerizenabel, Nemeteeh, Mehmed, Japa, Krator, Casyia
Nemeteeh Askare, of the Third Order says, "Fish."
Opening his mouth wide, Krator gapes in wonder.
Casyia grins mischievously.
Mehmed grins mischievously.
Nemeteeh grins mischievously.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "Two votes for fish."
Krator says to Xzerizenabel, "You have the final saying should you pick one of the two.."
Casyia nods her head.
Krator asks Mehmed, "Unless you also join in?"
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "Only if she does not end the stalemate."
Xzerizenabel Quintus says, "I vote Devotion."
Casyia beams broadly.
Krator puts his hands on his hips and goes "Hmmm!"
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "That's a single vote for devotion."
Krator asks, "Cointossing?"
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "Well, that's fun."
Nemeteeh Askare, of the Third Order says, "We better do what Japa says."
Nemeteeh taps his nose knowingly.
The bright sun shines down upon you.
Nemeteeh Askare, of the Third Order says, "Japa wins, all know that."
Casyia giggles happily.
Opening his mouth wide, Krator gapes in wonder.
Japa grins mischievously.
Japa's deadly tail sways slowly behind him.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "Guess I'll start with fish. if we have more time, I'll do searching. I'll do devotion at some point too."
Casyia nods her head.
Krator's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
Casyia smiles and says, "Fish sounds good to me."
Mehmed's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
Casyia says to Mehmed, "And maybe save the others for next month, so we could make this sort of thing more regular?"
Mehmed nods his head.
Clearing his throat, Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "Like many stories, this starts with a beginning. this beginning happens to include two children playing next to a river."
Stars fill the firmament, illuminating the evening sky with a pale light.
Krator sits down.
A blue morpho butterfly launches into the air and flutters wildly to the next lilac bush.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "One was named Anzigh and the other Rahm. The two children made a habit of playing near the river, finding different things along the way to show each other and compare at the end of the day to see who found the cooler thing. This ritual has been going on since they met until this point with Rahm normaly being able to find the better thing."
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "This day was going as most days do. Anzigh found a small rock while Rahm found a bigger, shiny rock. Anzigh found a fish bone while Rahm found its skull."
The night sky is clear, and the stars twinkle like diamonds.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "Growing a bit more adventurous and perhaps motivated by the goal to show Rahm up, Anzigh walked deeper into the river and started searching. Suddenly, he felt himself stepping on something lumpy, which almost tripped him."
Japa drops a heart-shaped redwood canopy bed.
Japa takes a seat on a heart-shaped redwood canopy bed.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "Reaching down, he felt the large object partly buried in the mud and started pulling. as he was unable to pull it out on his own, he called Rahm and they both started pulling. Pulling and pulling, heaving and bracing themselves against the rocks."
Mehmed squats down, sticks his arms out, and begins to mimic the motions of pulling something from the earth with all his might.
The clouds part, revealing a vast array of iridescent stars fixed in the night sky.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "After all the pulling, the object finally gave way and launched into the air, streaking towards the shore like an arrow in flight. the two kids ran towards it and had a look at what it really was. Upon reaching the river bank, they could see that it really was a..."
With a tone of disgust, Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "A dead and rotting fish covered in black spots and mud."
Casyia winces in pain.
Japa wrinkles his nose and sniffs.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "Thing is, it was huge. It was almost the height of a hound."
Waking from sleep, the morning sun casts bright rays of light, filling the land with its majesty.
"Wow!" Casyia exclaims.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "The find of such a fish making him more than a bit proud, Anzigh started strutting around the corpse and teasing Rahm about it. He even went as far as to call all the kids he and Rahm were friends with over to see it so that he could show it off."
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "It was nearly sunset when all of the kids were gathered, excited to see what Anzigh was trying to show them."
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "Something that i'm sure some of you know by now... corpses, more so fish ones tend to get fat and full of gass when they become old."
Krator grins mischievously.
Nemeteeh Askare, of the Third Order whispers to Krator, "We are not old, how should we know."
Krator asks Nemeteeh, "Because he just told us?"
Krator nods sagely.
Mehmed grins mischievously.
Casyia gives a trillingly melodic laugh.
Rising higher in the sky, the sun illuminates the land, confining darkness to the shadows.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "All the kids were gathered in a circle around the fish, Anzigh almost standing on it as he paced around the corpse and started boasting. Sadly, this was not to last. as Anzigh accidentally stepped on the fish..."
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator exclaims, "Boooooom!!"
"Heh heh heh," Japa chuckles.
"Ugh!" Casyia says in disgust.
Krator snickers softly to himself.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "It exploded. Fish guts and maggots flew everywhere, covering almost all the children, most of all Anzigh who was covered from head to toe in the stuff."
Casyia curls her nose up and grimaces awfully.
Krator says, "The smell.."
A masked man says, "Oops..Sorry."
Casyia flashes a masked man a joyous smile.
Mehmed's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "Anzigh, along with all the other little ones, went to get washed up after being...gutted. As he swam in the little bucket and scrubbed himself with the bar of soap, he reflected on the day and learned something new. What do you think that is?"
Casyia ponders the situation.
Casyia says, "Don't step on a dead fish?"
Japa nods sagely at Casyia.
Mehmed grins mischievously.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "Well... that works."
Casyia gives a trillingly melodic laugh.
Casyia says, "There is probably a bigger lesson at play there."
Japa tilts his head and listens intently to Mehmed.
Krator asks, "There is always a bigger fish?"
Krator says, "Filled..with gas.."
Mehmed grins mischievously.
Casyia gives a trillingly melodic laugh.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "I meant more in the vein of.. don't let your achievements how ever big or small get to your head too much. The prideful tend to fall."
"Ahah!" Casyia exclaims triumphantly.
"Mhmm," Krator murmurs, nodding slowly and deliberately.
A blue morpho butterfly flaps its wings gently, displaying its vibrant colours.
Casyia smiles and says, "I like it!"
Mehmed beams broadly.
Casyia claps her hands together merrily.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "So, how was that for a tale of fishtails?"
Casyia laughingly says, "That was.. wonderful."
Casyia say, "And I think this is a spectacular way of getting the city together."
Mehmed beams broadly.
Japa claps his hands together merrily.
Casyia says, "Not to mention, the tale itself was very interesting and meaningful."
A swallowtail butterfly suns itself, stretching its wings.
Krator says to Mehmed, "Thank you."
Nemeteeh nods his head.
Casyia says to Mehmed, "Yes!!! Thank you so much for that."
Nemeteeh Askare, of the Third Order says to Mehmed, "Thank you old friend."
Krator says to Nemeteeh, "Old now?!"
Mehmed's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
Krator snickers softly to himself.
Krator stands up and stretches his arms out wide.
Casyia giggles happily.
Krator says, "I have to be leaving."
"Heh heh heh," Nemeteeh chuckles.
Sir Mehmed Amanedhel, Mountainous Joculator says, "I'm glad to bring joy through tales."
Casyia nods her head.
Mehmed waves goodbye.
Krator's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
Casyia says, "Yep, looking forward to many more of these."
