Ithaquan Law

Greetings Aetherius-

I address you as head of the clan of Ithaqua, resident within the
Ithaquan village in the forest of the same name. Fenrir Lyesmith, chief
of Ithaqua village, has made it known to us that we are to be welcomed
in as Ithaquan. No longer settlers, we are now residents. While we work
to reconstruct the village, and to awaken the trees in our forest, we
are now made aware of laws in the Ithaquan village.

Magic is disallowed within the Ithaquan village. It is the decision of
the chief and his elders that Ithaqua's history of magical cataclysm
warrants such an act. It has been this way for centuries, we are only
now made aware of our duty to fulfill it, so long as we wish to be
Ithaquan.

Ithaqua village is forbidden to the creatures who serve magic users,
though not the magic users themselves. Demons of all kinds are not
welcome in Ithaqua.

Also the use of the skills of magic users is forbidden in Ithaqua.
Runelore, alchemy, the like. I'm not an expert on the matter, but that
is the law. No totems nor sigils are welcome within the village, nor
runes etched on the ground.

Interestingly, Ithaquan law defines the bardic skills as being natural
in origin, and their skills may be freely used therein. Also, Ithaquan
law and culture sees Death and the powers thereof to be merely an
extension of life. Any who wish to discuss the matter may feel free to
contact me, but the short version is that Necromancers, provided they
offer no threat to the forest, are welcome in Ithaqua. The study and
powers of Death are part of the cycle, no less natural than the groves
and bonds used by the Arboreals.

We make no moral censure on those who use the powers forbidden to
Ithaqua. We merely ask that those powers not be used within the village
boundaries. Those who wield them, however, are welcome to walk our
branches, and indeed to seek membership.

However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
