17.36 Tournament of the Ages

The Tournament of the Ages is an annual event that combines different games and challenges. The exact games of each ToA are decided beforehand, but they range from games open to PK to PVE only games, and while some events are played in the Arena, others require the knowledge of the world itself.

Anniversary Tournament Events

Each category of the tournament has a number of games planned throughout the duration of the tournament. 

Points will be awarded to players in all events (with the exception of the infestation events) as follows:

  2nd   45 Points
  3rd   40 Points
  4th   35 Points
  5th   30 Points
  6th   25 Points
  7th   20 Points
  8th   15 Points
  9th   10 Points
  10th   5 Points
  11th   1 Points

Players who make an effort to participate in a game will receive 1 point. If there are fewer than 10 players the participating players will divide the sum of the total prize points. In the case of a tie, the tied players earn an equally divided sum of the prizes for the tied positions.

At the end of the tournament, you will receive 2 bound credits for every single point you've accumulated during the whole tournament.

In addition, the character with the most point will be crowned as the Champion of the Ages and will receive a unique artifact which we will announce in the near future.

For Infestation games, the circle that wins the event will get 5 points. Second place will get 3 points. There are three Infestation games planned and the circle with the most point will receive a unique item that will be announced in the near future.


Anniversary Tournament Locations

Events will happen in three locations:

- WORLD: In the normal game world.
- QUEST: In a Tournament Quest Area.
- ARENA: In a Tournament Arena.


Anniversary Tournament Events
---------------------------------

Infestation [WORLD]: 
This is a circle based game that takes place in the Physical Realm. Players will find and harvest an item that is releasing foul spirits into the world. Full description of the game and the commands will be coming soon. 

Horror Hunt [WORLD]: 
This is a 60 minute xp contest in which horrors will be released into the Physical Realm for players to kill as quickly as possible. 

Soul Trap [WORLD]: 
This is a Shadow Lovers variant where players are looking for the souls of the dead. This game takes place in the Physical Realm. Commands and game information coming soon.

Memory Match [WORLD]:
Well, it's no Poker Tournament, but this game is a great test of short term memory, spatial association and just as good for bragging rights as any other game around. 

War Zone [QUEST]: 
The War Zone game will happen in the Tournament of Ages Quest Area. Creatures come in waves and get stronger and stronger every round. The player that kills the most mobs will win. Characters will respawn in the arena until all of the spawn waves are released.

Overrun [QUEST]: 
This game is similar to War Zone and will take place in the Tournament of Ages Quest Area. Creatures come in waves and get stronger each round. Each character can only die once. The character that last the longest will win.

Daily Quest [QUEST]:
Every day of the tournament will see the release of a new quest. Anyone that completes the quest for that day will receive participation points.

Drinking Contest [QUEST]:  
How well can you hold your liquor? Will you be the last man (or woman) standing?

Soul Hunt [ARENA]: 
This is a variation of the a gem hunt where the player will gather the souls of the dead. We will have PK and NoPK versions.

Soul Drain [ARENA]: 
This is a freeze tag variant.

Bait the Beast [ARENA]:
A variation of the Bait the Frog game.

15-minute Bloodbath [ARENA]:
Normal Bloodbath event.

Free-for-alls [ARENA]:
Normal Free-for-all event.



ToA Art Contests

Literary Contest:
Submit an original written piece of work, focusing on the chosen theme.

Artistic Contest:
Submit an original artistic work, focusing on the chosen theme. 

Wearable Tradeskill Design Contest:
A panel of  judges will evaluate your best work. You will submit a single wearable item. The tournament's Artistic theme, "Ancient Imperian" may be applied here as well. Bonus points wil be award for well-crafted items that fit this theme, although truly fantastic items will always receive high scores. 

Utilitarian Tradeskill Design Contest:
A panel of Divine judges will evaluate your best work. You will submit a single item that is not wearable. The tournament's Artistic theme may be applied here as well. Bonus points will be awarded for well-crafted items that fit this theme, although truly fantastic items will always receive high scores. When submitting containers with fluids in them, please indicate whether the container is being judged. 


Note: Information about submitting your set of items will be made available in Imperian. You must have the relevant tradeskills to submit an item for that tradeskill, and you must have created the item yourself.
