As the gypsy child Paili played her games of hopscotch through the
streets of Stavenn, she was oblivious to the machinations of Lady
Lucasta Alcine and Lord Leisane Nessaja. The adorable little girl was
lured by Esher into a happy hour of play before being led to halls of
the Noctusari. Once at their destination, Esher continued to soothe the
child, promising to show her an amazing sight, that of a demon.

Many gathered to enact the nefarious plan that would fulfill the bargain
between the Lady Alcine and the Lord Nessaja. Several Diavlous knights
were in place as guards, namely Xaarin, Elphie, and Aethus. The
representatives of the Noctusari were Alaia, Smeff, Ren, and the devious
Esher. The Lady Alcine looked on the proceedings anxiously, impatient to
be reunited with Elisia.

The ritual was prepared and the child Paili watched in obvious
fascination, not knowing yet the part she was to play. The demon Belial
was summoned forth, and the pact fulfilled. Paili was delivered unto the
creature for the return of Elisia Alcine. At the death of Paili, Elisia
Alcine appeared in a cloud of smoke and ash. Lucasta was shocked to see
her daughter, the once beautiful little girl much changed. The girl
thought herself a demon and referred to Belial as her beloved Master.
She was wroth to be removed from the care of the creature and flew at
her Mother in a rage, slaying her. The girl was bound quickly, and
through the persuasions of Lord Nessaja and the ministrations of Ren,
she was slowly returned to a semblance of her former self. Child and
Mother are now reunited, and the promises of the Lady Alcine to the
Empire will soon be fulfilled.
