Lily of the Valley

Hush now, sweet baby,
Let's dry all your tears.
Heed of the wind's
Blessed call.

Hear ye the story
Of long, ancient years.
When the lily of the valley
Grew wild and grew tall.

Kissed by the sunlight,
Held by the moon.
Beauty incarnate those
Petals on she.

Deep in the meadows
With an uplifted smile,
The lily of the valley
Grew mile after mile.

Now cries the lily
To the moon in the sky.
"Why must the bee
Bother me?"

And the moon, looking down,
Sheds a tear with a sigh.
"Because, love, that's
How life must be."

Lily of the valley,
And queen of the groves,
Don't let your petals
Wilt now.

Lily of the valley,
Maid, blessed, wild.
Grow tall and wild,
Grow mile after mile.

Blessings, Ella
