Would you?

You've said you've loved me,
And I said I loved you too.
We've been together for all to see,
And now I have question for you.

If our love was wine,
I'd savor every sip.
And if our love was softest silk,
I'd never let it rip.

So, I decided to ask,
But then I didn't know when.
When should I ask?
I think now is that 'then'.

I do bring a ring,
for all to see,
but first I ask my question, fair and clear,
" Senara, would you marry me? "

Now, you wouldn't have to reply immediately,
Oh no, thinking is what I'll probably see.
But even as you do that, I imagine you in wedding dress,
my hope is that.. you'll say yes.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Aequitas, in the year 435 AD.
