The Loyal Heart

Written by: Dame Lakessa Tellaris, Knight-Major
Date: Friday, February 24th, 2006
Addressed to: Everyone

The loyal heart of love
Wasn't given to me by Those from above
But by my grandfather, and mother
And my children, and my husband, and my favorite brother

It was given to me by Sir Conleth, my mentor in times of need
And by Sir Quinn, who's loyalty was as steadfast as weeds
By Dame Chasmina who taught me the heart can be betrayed
And by Elation, my first kestrel, who was always there for me when my
mind frayed

It was given to me when I saw a brother's totem tear me limb from limb
And when I let go a Lorekeeper Blademaster true...under the bend of
another's whim
By that nameless novice who took up most of my patience, santity and
smiles
And by those same novices who eventually became true knights all the
while

You see it was developed over the span of time and space-
The content look in knight accomplishments, or the disappointment on my
face
Lovingly reading the old and first (before it was mangled) Lorekeeper
Code
And knowing I could always come home after battle...to the guildhall
abode

The loyal heart of love can't be taken away
It can't be hidden like the suns at the end of the day
It can't be denied, for honesty in love's intent is never failed
For the loyal heart of love will always prevail

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Bellum, in the year 485 AD.

Onward to 2021
