Utter Despair
-------------

A slave in the truest
sense of the word.
My memories calling,
demand to be heard.
-
Whispering subtle
to the ears of my mind.
My wounds stay unhealed
by the passage of time.
-
The abyss of my heart
with its leaden chains lies bound,
sealing my despair -
I whimper not a sound.
-
So tender my feelings,
so easily torn.
My past trails behind,
my soul depressed and forlorn.
-
I scream at the shadows
and wraiths in the dark,
their presence sap my strength,
tearing holes in my heart.
-
My expressions of anguish
brave time brazenly
like a weathered sea captain
and his maiden the sea.
-
No hope, no relief,
no light at the last,
the tracks lead to darkness:
my forever pitched path.
-

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Bellum, in the year 587 AD.
