Ode to Spring Contentment

Ode to Spring Contentment
-------------------------
From winter frost
Comes light and heat
And spurns some towards
An inner peace.
-
Yet blind I am
to why it's so,
As 'tis a season
For plants to grow.
-
A time of scents
And melting snow.
When renewed land
Takes up a glow.
-
Rising on high
From winter cold,
Radiating life
From every node.
-
But is it more
Than a fantastic dream?
Is there a reason
Why birds sing?
-
Why lovers stroll
Down lakeside lanes,
And songs are sung
In whimsical ways?
-
Why children scamper
And gleefully romp,
Round trees now green,
With fruit so plump?
-
Springtime picnics
And 'fun in the sun,'
What's your secret
Oh placid one?
-
Is it something I'll find
By examining you?
By joining in
With those things people do?
-
Then I'll do just that
And study your ways
Play all those games
And relax in your shade.
-
All things people do
To gain tranquility
I'll imitate well
To capture purity.
-
To find such peace
Will take some time,
Yet the end result
Is peace of mind.
-
Your key of peace
I hope to find,
And grasp hold,
And call it mine.

Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
