A shocking discovery.

Hail, people of Aetherius. I come to you today to spread word of a
shocking discovery we cannot possibly keep under wraps, so bring it to
you we must. It will call for among other things that Stavenn take a
hard look at and rework much of our ideology.

As with most research, this has been suggested before and pushed under
the carpet for various reasons as it was inconvenient and/or not fully
proven at the time.

To cut to the chase now and list the evidence next, it turns out that
much of our necromancy does not use magick, i.e. the power of the moons.
Fair Stavenn has long been proud of Her magickal heritage. That combined
with the motivation of an aggressive Antioch has given our people reason
to deny this aspect of our necromancy for all of it's relatively short
history, but we can do so no longer.

Ever since Sukhder's rifts overflowed, there has been a massive amount
of lunar energy fallout in Stavenn and northwest of Kinsarmar. Most
magick users have experienced this in the form of surges of power and
replenishment of mana as the lunar forces are drawn on. Thus did our
problem arise when it was noticed by many Stavennites in all walks of
life, myself included that many of our less complex and core necromancy
techniques never caused any side effects.

Experiments were begun, some pitiful in nature, as we simply did the
same thing over and over because many of us just couldn't believe it.
We've long claimed to be the masters of magick but can do so no longer.
The truth is, we've never really cared enough about where power comes
from as long as it obviously isn't going to run dry.

There are still many questions, such as just how necromancy was
developed. It's always been curious how there were no substantial
records of this. At some point one of the early Diavlous must have
crossed some sort of line while working with Noctu blood magick, and
entered the realm of utilizing pure devotion to Lord Thanatos. Said
Diavlous or Noctusari didn't become famous, they were probably
"silenced" but the techniques live on. Lord Thanatos obviously hasn't
cared to bring it up. When we ritually wither a finger and pray to the
power of death, there is ironically less a difference than we've all
liked to admit between that and when a Justicar makes a rite.

If anyone has any information pertaining to this, please send it our
way. Thank you for reading.

However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…
