your post

Kabal,

I really don't know where to start.

The nicest thing I can say about your post is that you write very
flowery articles which is always interesting. The exception would be
when you write on a topic you know nothing about. Now when you were
speaking of matters pertaining your own city which was at the time
Stavenn, and your guild which was at the time the Wytchen - I did not
agree sometimes but meh, it wasn't my fight and I know nought about
those entities to argue with one who lives within them. Now I see you
taking the high horse on the things I hold dear and believe in? I don't
think I shall be so quiet this time.

Your attitude toward the concoctionists of the land is simply
inaccurate.

The only experience you have had up until your year or two as a warden
would be as the one shelling out the gold to have your vials refilled.
Thus now you are the one with the knowledge of the herbs that you once
had to depend on others to procure, you suddenly believe you are the
higher authority.
There is poor discipline among some of the older arboreals and hunters,
those that came before the detailed education I was given, and those
that came after the guilds settled. Some of the elders -do- amass large
amounts of herbs with intent to sell and then get defensive and claim
they are natures guardians and would never abuse the Wilds blah blah.
Yes this is quite true. But! I would feel quite confident in saying this
is only a third or maybe even a quarter of the active concoctionists
that exist today. The fact that herbs are picked low in places is
because certain herbalists are inconsiderate and believe there is some
kind of race on who can pick the quince before it is stripped to
minimum, to give one example. The herb laws are more or less a guideline
for the law abiding concoctionists, merchants and those who are less
wealth driven. They -are- enforced but they are most definitely not a
tool used to hold Aetherius in some kind of merchant stranglehold. And
if you would point out herb bans I would ask you to count on two hands
how many herb bans there have actually been - I doubt you would pass
three fingers if my memory serves me well.

Now, what makes you think you have a right to dictate to those of us who
have been studying our ways for the last two to three decades when you
have been in your current profession only a couple of years? Are the
wardens truly so arrogant or is it just you? I would ask if it -is- just
you, that your elders punish you for such a gross act of misconduct and
not to mention blasphemy against the Goddess of the Wilds.
That part particularly got on my nerves Kabal. Being an Asakii I believe
its only natural that when a smart mouth speaks such drivel about my
Mother that I would feel a little angry. Maybe its best to ignore you
but I wont have you believing for a second that your views are somehow
justified by your mastery of the common language.

I think that is all for now

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
