Public News Post #1706

More specifically to the Arboreals

First off I apologize for bringing this to the public's view however as
our probate clan ran off with a former guildmate this is where it is
being posted. If you are not an Arboreal or do not care, feel free to
overlook this post.

My soul met my body in this realm early last month and I found myeslf
probated by Erin. There was no message to follow out of courtesey to
tell me what I'd supposedly done wrong to warrant such a punishment. I
was then told that I had been probated for harvesting during the Year of
Rest. I can think of a number of reasons this may have been assumed:

+ I harvested up until the last day of last year, then my soul left the
realms. Some of the plants were harvested rather low due to there not
being many of them left within a given location when I arrived at them
as is.
+ Some do not seem to understand that Perennials do not automatically
regrow to full at the turn of the year like Annuals do. A common
mistake, I almost made it as well when I was patrolling after the year
turned - though I'd think our leadership would know the difference.

These are the only two reasons I could think of that would lead someone
to think I harvested. I find it very unbecoming of a Guildmaster to just
probate someone without a courtesy message to follow and even more so to
lie. The lie I'm speaking of is her saying that she patrolled then went
back the next month, ironically just happening to patrol the same area,
and supposedly noticed the plants were lower and that I'd been the last
to harvest. I have a number of problems with this.

+ I find it very hard to believe that the same person would patrol the
same exact locations two months in a row. Especially someone who has
been a part of the guild longer who knows it is a very big world out
there and it is important to patrol more areas than just one, unless one
is too lazy to spread their search out.
+ I have felt like Erin has been giving me the cold shoulder ever since
I contradicted her over Nisha's outguilding and stated my position to
her. Despite the fact that I had been "reassured" that my concerns could
be freely spoken without fear of retribution, her demeanor toward me has
changed considerably.
+ There was said to be "indisputable evidence" that I harvested. Well I
find it a little too ironic that all that said evidence just happened to
be consumed by the Blight and now there is no evidence for or against me
to be found.
+ Along the lines of the Blight - if there had been a patrol in any of
the areas before the Blight touched it, the plants would be higher. If a
patrol had then taken place the next month in the same areas but the
Blight had spread to them, there would have been less plants and the
last person to harvest would still show as the last to harvest. So the
plants would have been higher the one month, still not harvested by the
last person this year however, then the Blight touches them and there
are less the next month. That doesn't mean they were harvested though.
If you go look at the Aerish mountains right now many of the rooms are
completely bare of plantlife. Does that suddenly make one guilty of
overharvesting too, because according to lastharvest I and anyone else
who harvested in those mountains were the last to harvest them?
+ Every attempt at speaking with her has been ignored, which rude and
very unbecoming of the High Priestess of Nature. As a Secretary or a
Guildmaster you shouldn't just ignore the people who fall under your
guidance, even if you don't peronally favor them for whatever reason,
valid or not. For someone who's supposed to be fit to lead, they ought
to have the ability to remain neutral in situations such as this one.

I feel very betrayed right now. I have worked very hard at helping the
guild in any way I can, including giving my life more than once when the
War was taking place. I am aware of the laws of the Year of Rest, I
would not disobey them for selfish desires. What's more, I'm not the
type to lie about something. If I had the intention of harvesting I
would have requested that I be put on probation and state that I had the
intention of harvesting. I know people patrol, why would I attempt to
hide something knowing full well it would be discovered? I may be young,
but I do not deserve a punishment for something I did not do, and I
certainly don't deserve to be ignored or disregarded by some of our
leadership (they do not all apply.)

I expect that, as before, speaking openly about how I feel will only
make things worse and that retribution - despite being told there would
be none for opinions and concerns - will follow. I do not blame anyone
in the guild for being afraid to speak their mind, and I know there are
quite a few of you. Speaking your mind and stating your concerns only
seems to get you hated or punished.

Heavily Disappointed,
Illyaria Pae'ganis Tellaris

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…
