Greetings!

Well, it's not often that I feel amused enough to write a public post,
but I just have to relate a little story here. Zihon, the apparent
scourge of Kinsarmar, has taken it upon himself to attempt a few
blackwinded raids upon the city. Now, a few of these were somewhat
successful, having managed to blackwind in and startle his opponents
while they were shopping or somesuch. In recent days, however, he has
had an apparent interest in getting his hands on Lorekeeper
wares...things that we do not sell to Stavenn. So eager is he for these
wares that he has tried to get into the stockroom, then tried to kill me
while forging in the city. Naturally, I, like most defenders of
Kinsarmar, fought back in each of these raids.

Here's where the tale gets amusing. After trying to track me in the city
and out, Zihon sends me a little message about settling our issues in a
duel. Issues? What issues? A city enemy enters the city, attempting to
kill or steal, and he will get slain for his efforts, or at the very
least attacked for them. Strikes me as a simple tidbit of logic. One
that even the other occasional Stavennite raiders adhere to and
understand. There is nothing personal about defending one's city. I
would kill a family member if he or she was enemied to the city and
tried the same thing.

So...no, Zihon, I won't grant you a one on one duel, because you and I
both know that by that same logic, every time you get the idea into your
head to raid, I will be there attacking you regardless. I have never
claimed to be a great fighter, but my loyalty to my city and protection
of her sovereignty is foremost in my place in life. There is nothing
personal about it, nor is there anything personal about your misplaced
decisions to raid.

In other words, no, I will not grant you the luxury of a duel. You're
going to have to work at killing me so long as I'm a defender of
Kinsarmar.
