You would do well to understand that whatever Valarauko's passion for
war, he was not an erege when you annulled the treaty and so had nothing
to do with the cause of this conflict. There are those in Stavenn who
delight in the shedding of blood and there are those, like me, who see
the shedding of blood as a means to further the goals of the empire,
nothing more, nothing less. You are fortunate that the latter faction is
as represented as it is.

If you really want to pull a shroud over the eyes of your people then
you might attempt to twist the words of the imperator and not one whose
voice on its own does not represent the will of the empire.
