The Noble Panda, cont.

I assure you that I have the best interests of the noble Panda at heart.
They are popular animals of a small population, and extensive capture
and taming of them could eliminate them in the wild in the worst case
scenario. While certain members of Khandava like to think that only they
are "allowed" to protect the many animal species, the simple truth is
that the Panda habitat is far too distant to them and they have far too
much else on their plate to protect the masked bear effectively.

While people of course bring up the incident where I brought a Panda
back from the dead, I would point out that in Stavenn, being animated is
considered a great honor. Fallen citizens always hope their worth is
enough that they might be brought back from the dead to continue to
serve the Empire. A misunderstanding over this has caused conflict in
the past, and the world at large has never understood Stavennite culture
and I don't expect them to start now. But for the few open-minded
individuals out there, know that Pandas are never animated with the goal
of being insulting.

While it is true I once made an animated Panda dance and wrestle people
at the spring, is dancing and wrestling really so insulting? I gave that
animal in particular increased direction with a recently discovered
ability. I will grant that being possessed has the potential to be
insulting, but in that case I do not feel it was. Mao-mao was a champion
wrestler and accomplished dancer before he was destroyed at the start of
the Panda War.

Lastly, the subject of selling "Panda Licenses" for 30k gold. The truth
is that we protectors of the masked bear must acknowledge the potential
for pirated pandas; creating a legal outlet for their (limited) taming
and selling will most likely be more effective than attempting a full
ban without exception at all. We are simply killing off the
profitability of the black market here. In that sense, I would like to
congratulate Airhman, first to purchase a masked bear taming license
(MBTL) from the nobility. Feel free to see him for all of your Panda
needs, I am sure he will be a responsible dealer.
