A sweet dream

Personally, I do not know you, so I apologize if you feel insulted by
the following words, because I am sure, something that follows will hurt
your feelings. I applaud you for being a true dreamer and an idealist,
it has an almost innocent quality to it that I long for.

However, in your dream and in your innocence you are in fact blind to
the truth. The truth is that well, people are hideous creatures. Take
for example, Clark, Khayyin and Incensum. They realize what the rest of
the world realizes, that a majority of the wytchen are the throwbacks
that nobody else really wanted, people that had no where else to go. For
every one wytch worth their weight in air, there are ten wytches not
worth a demon's death rattle. People like the tacky trio realize this
and seek to capitalize upon it. They take your dream and they twist it
to their own machinations. They do not cherish your freedom, your
coterie or the ties that bind you. Cretins like this seek only the
powers of the spirit-steed and vodun. Past this, you are nothing but a
tool to them.

When these cretins bring their idiocy to bear against the world as a
whole and ultimately find refuge in the outhouse of stavenn, like the
rest of their ilk, they find new lows of humanity and explore new and
abusive ways to taint and mock your arts. Long ago, we've all accepted
that the fungus at the top of the pond of Stavenn can't keep the angst
ridden tadpoles in line. Occasionally, we'll throw a rock into the pond,
eliciting a few cries of terror, unfair and waaah, but ultimately, no
one can control the doll-wielding tadpoles.

This is where you come in. You are in control of who learns your art and
to what extent. The Coterie of the wytchen is the only organization who
has mastered the use of the spirits and the art of vodun, which makes
you the only organization of inhibiting the spread of the dumb, which
has infested tadpoles like Incensum, Katsuma, Clark and the like for so
long. This is where your dream is shattered by the harsh reality. By
stepping up to lead your guild, you sacrifice your own freedom and you
are bound to the fate of those you lead. As such, when the naughty baby
frogs who have an affinity for dolls get into heaps of trouble, and the
stank rot of Stavenn says "ssstupid kidsss, sssumon me fassster!" the
world sees the leaders of the Coterie as the only recourse. History and
reality then rear their ugly heads again, and bring to bear the facts
that the wytchen are weak and ultimately wish to avoid conflict at all
costs. Thus, when faced with the decision of futilely talking to Jazyra,
Dregaur or Alakshmi, people tend to choose beating the ever loving hell
out of you to get their way. Which, from my own experience is a vastly
less dumb course of action and ultimately more fruitful.

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news dear heart, but it is time that
you accept the facts. Make your kiddies behave with their playthings and
cease the pathetic and often redundant plays at vodun domination or
ultimately, suffer the responsibility of your own freedom, death at the
hands of those wronged by Clark, Khayyin and those like them.

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
