The actions of the Ithaquans are their own, and their reasoning for why
they assailed your city are as well. What I can answer, however, is the
reason the treaty between Antioch and Kinsarmar was dropped.
When enemies of Antioch enter the desert, every able-bodied Antiochian
mobilizes to fight until the enemy escapes or dies. Kinsarmar was not
expected to aid us in combating the enemies of your city that were at
your gates that day. I was only shocked that we were the ones under
attack from your citizens, and not said enemies.
Let us go over this one more time, in detail. Enemies of your city were
at your gates fighting Lucian, an Antiochian. Lythander and I notice
this, and together we go to assist Lucian, only to get attacked by the
people of Kinsarmar. Call it what you will, but in Antioch, we call it
'Stavenn aiding Kinsarmar'. The incident was taken to the Antiochian
Council, and after numerous discussions about it, the decision to drop
the treaty was made.
Vadush deserves no gentle diplomacy from his actions, and I informed him
of his impending death. He chose to come out of Kinsarmar and die to me
- even if he hadn't, I would have disrupted every moment of his life
until he did.
One has to be amazed at the ease with which you mention and then brush
off your association with Stavennites. Accepting the aid of Stavenn once
condemned you in the eyes of the world, Not only did Kinsarmar accept
the aid of Stavenn, she offered them aid, too, when Antioch attacked
them. This is all in addition to assisting Stavenn in raiding an
Antiochian towne last month.
My words to the Duke were not spoken as the voice of Antioch, but on my
own behalf. I made the request to see that you and Wren were removed
from office. As far as I am concerned, and this is perhaps backed by the
opinions of many others, you two are what is wrong with Kinsarmar. Even
from the desert, it is evident that you are incapable of being leaders,
and I felt it was time that others got the opportunity to save
Kinsarmar, something you two have failed to do in all the time you've
led her.
My end of the deal would have been accomplished simply by mediating the
matter. Using my contacts in Antioch and Ithaqua, I was confident that I
could convince both of them to stop fighting, without making any more
treaties or promises. I felt that your removal from leadership would be
evidence that Kinsarmar truly desired to change as well as make amends
for this ungodly association with Stavenn.
As for Laia and Wysrias, I could not care less about either. Wysrias was
my enemy, and will likely always be. I had no relationship whatsoever
with Laia, and have never spoken to nor met Kanthari. The extrapolations
you made concerning myself and them amuses me greatly though. It is the
way of the Cleric to practice compassion, and compassion mandates that
when someone is greatly wronged, I try to help them if I am able to. I
have healed sick and dying magickers in the past, so it really should
come as no surprise that I wished for the owners of any demolished homes
to be compensated.
