Certain Misconceptions

Dear Aetherius,

For a while now, I, with many members of the Wytchen, have been
following this "war" with great intrest. Some of those members have been
much more involved than others, lending their hands to fight for causes
they believe are just.

Or maybe some of them like the bloodshed, I won't deny that I do have
some bloodthirsty Wytchen that I look over.

I have never before posted something so public, in all my decades, save
one mistake a scribe made several years ago, but I believe that I should
state a few things, before any other presumptions are made on my behalf.

Firstly, many of you do indeed believe that this whole saga is a war
between Magick and Anti-Magick, and such the Wytchen MUST join the
"Coalition" of Kinsarmar, Stavenn and several citiless combatants who
have involved themselves in the multitude of skirmishes across the
continent.

Now, I'm not sure when that was declared, because I was still laughing
at something a certain shrubbery said about frogs and tadpoles.

However, I am not blind, and I do realise that this "war" between
Ithaqua and Antioch going against the oft oppposed, sometimes allied
forces of Kinsarmar and Stavenn is slowly degenerating into the handiest
excuse for ANYONE to attack ANYONE else.

The Wytchen are neutral in this matter, as long as it remains this way.
Indeed, as those of you who I have spoken to in private might know, the
tactics of this "Coalition" have actually made it very hard for me to
even prod the Wytchen into action.

It would be impossible, indeed, it would go against all the ancient
beliefs of the Wytchen to ally themselve with those who lay siege to an
unprotected village. If you study the historical beliefs of this guild,
you would understand why, and the most we can do is stay neutral.

Neutrality is something many don't believe in, however, and so, as I
have told several Antiochans, Stavennites and Kinsarmarians, I will not
discourage any involvement in this war. Some of them fight for their
city, some for "honour" and some for Magick. Personally, I have been in
the presence of a so-called bloodthirty killer who seeks to slay ANY
Magicker and have had a rather pleasant conversation, and so I am trying
to convince myself that the idea that it's Magick vs Anti-Magick is a
rather short-sighted one.

Call me naiive if you will, I've been called worse.

However, should anything spill into harming the Wytchen NOT involved in
anything, let it be known that I shall not hesitate to... rectifying the
situation, as much as I abhore the tactics and ways of some. The actions
of a Wytch are their own, and most of you who have dealt with any of us
with a ahred of intelligence would know where we stand on this matter.

There are several other points I'd like to address, but they don't
concern everyone, perhaps only a particular organisation, and so their
leaders may expect a request for a meeting of sorts.

Now, I've taken too much of your time, and my tiger is rather hungry.

May the Stars shine brightly on your paths,

Xen

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
