Public News Post #2449

Kinsarmar, Mages and me.

Now that it is the 25th of Artificium, my contract with a Stavennite has
expired and I won't be attacking Antioch any longer. So stay out of my
way and you have nothing to worry about concerning me.

The main reason I wish to post however, is to publicly raise issue with
my treatment from Kinsarmar. I spoke with many people before beginning
my little mercenary project, and quit Kinsarmar so that I would not be
breaking the "fraternization laws" by working with Stavennites. Shortly
after the start of my work, I was branded an enemy of the city, for
breaking the social laws of a place I had packed up and moved out of in
every way possible.

I spoke with Brandeis on three occasions about my plans to sell services
to Stavenn. He told me that as long as I didn't break Kinsarmar law, I
would have to quit Kinsarmar, it would be all right. After being kicked
out the Mages and enemied for working with them, I was told that
services did not include mercenary services. Shortly before that
happened I pointed out that it did not say anywhere in the guild laws
that Mages without citizenship could not fight as allies with
Stavennites, and was told not to split hairs. I was also told that I was
not going to be allowed to argue my case since I was enemied to
Kinsarmar. See above, I took as many lengths as I could to avoid being
enemied to Kinsarmar. A friend told me the reason for my being enemied
in the logs was written something like "I -consider- what she has done
treason", without an actual attempt to site laws.

Now, I understand that some of you feel betrayed. And I am very sorry
that you see it that way. But without going into too much detail, what I
am doing is frankly for your own good. If you don't want to admit what
is good for you, then fine, I am certainly not going to be the first
with wildly differing views on this sort of thing. Perhaps it is ironic
that my mentor is Ryax. I didn't agree with his attempted coup, and
didn't follow him when he asked me to, but have ended up with the same
status as him all the same.

In closing, I was never more than a denizen in Kinsarmar. I didn't grow
up there, but immediately gave the city everything I had as soon as I
moved in, and the pats on the back were enough for me. I had expected to
still spend most of my time there after removing myself from the
official roster. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement, and
I am asking you publicly now to reconsider as my messages have been met
with only insults.

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Fas, in the year 489 AD.

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
