Disrespect

Kira Ashtear,

I'm writing this to you publicly so all may know what it is I have said,
and why. You showed concern, nay, righteous indignation, at my somewhat
uncaring reaction to hearing that Lord Baar's shrines had been targetted
of late. It is not because of any disrespect I hold towards Lord Baar,
or because of any love I hold in my heart towards the ones who would
commit a despicable act such as this. Rather, I reacted as I did out of
a misunderstanding. In my mind, I perceived the shrines as vain
religion, out of an ignorance I did not see at first. I've made it no
secret to most that know me well that I have no great respect for
religion in my heart, and as such all vestiges of it prick at me like a
burr under a horses' saddle. I still do not understand how the Divine,
powerful as They are, can need to depend on the offerings of us mere
mortals for strength, but I will look into the matter further to
understand it. Forgive my ignorance, and my irritable reaction at
something I misunderstood, and know that I immediately went to look into
the matter, discovering what I had not known before.

Respectfully,
Adelphos Askare

P.S. Any who are willing to discourse with me on the subject of Shrines,
Orders, and Offerings are more than welcome. You'll find a listening
ear.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Aequitas, in the year 564 AD.
