My diplomatic offer

Please do not misunderstand our conversation. You approached me this month past asking what Celidon could do to repair the rift dealt between our two organizations. You repudiated Ziat, said that the entire Council disagreed with his declaration, and came to me asking to end a war that your Council created.

From that point, given the position you offered me I could have asked for any number of things. I could have demanded gold or the resignation of your rogue diplomat, but I am a reasonable person. I asked instead simply for the return of something that I consider my property, something that I have long felt belonged to the city of Antioch.

By peacefully returning our outpost as a gesture of good faith, I expect that we would look more favorably at your request. The battle itself did not influence our war, but I would accept the spoils of that battle as reparations. I am certain that you understand that I cannot let this diplomatic slight against my home pass without such a gesture.

I will accept peace as quickly as you, once appropriate considerations are taken.

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Aequitas, in the year 11 AM.
